News September 2008: Moving towards the Holidays

          P.U.D. came and went rather disappointingly from a vendor standpoint. The festival itself was great, but not a lot of people had moolah for my glitter. With current gas prices, I can understand though. In the process of laying out all the pieces for sale though I came to the realization I now have an OM COLLECTION and a GODDESS COLLECTION. Wow.

          So no more major endeavors for me through the end of the year other than beading when the mood strikes. I will be offering holiday discounts, so just email me for information.

 

News August 2008: Gearing up for P.U.D.!

          There are going to be upwards of 25 vendors... including myself. Jewelry, metaphysical goods, gifts, pictures, children's entertainment... oh my the list goes on! COME VISIT MY BOOTH! There are also going to be seminars, speakers, alternative healers, intuitive readers, and we're having a Great Spiral Dance to boot (Singing, dancing, chanting sacred prayers) It's going to be AWESOME!

News May 2008: Happy Mother's Day to everyone!

    Sadly I don't have much work in-progress. With my own mother suffering a fall in April, I've been on nurse patrol. Not a lot of time for beading.

News Jan 2008: Happy New Year!

    That's right! I can now say I am ribbon-winning designer! I entered four pieces in the Coastal Carolina State Fair... two of which won RED RIBBONS and two of which one BLUE RIBBONS!

    Originally the Peach Agate Goddess and the Prehnite Collar (below) were for sale... but I'm getting kind of attached to them now.

         So what separates hand crafted jewelry from what you’d find in a store? LOVE. Each piece I design goes far beyond just putting together some matching elements. Am I saying I am magic? No. I am saying I believe our creator is magic… and has given us many wonderful things to help us on this journey called life.

          Each and every piece I make has a personality to it, an attitude. It is intended to fill a specific need, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Why is that? Each stone resonates to a frequency, corresponds to a chakra of the body, or has been associated with specific spiritual qualities by generations from different cultures of the world. I respect and honor these qualities, and take them in consideration when crafting a piece, charging the stones with intent as I craft. Call it intuition, call it faith, call it what you will… but it is this unseen element that makes the difference. It makes the pieces good old friends that get you through you day instead of a lifeless thing with no heart. For more information see the “magical stones” page. I’ve gathered some lore on the innate properties and spiritual uses.

          I also Reiki my pieces as I work on them. What is Reiki? The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." In practice, it is a healing technique similar to the laying on of hands, and is centered around the belief that everything carries an unseen universal life force energy. When that spiritual energy in a person is low, weak, or damaged it often causes sickness or disease. Practitioners of Reiki believe they are conduits for this life energy, and can help to heal, cleanse, and reestablish bad energy flow.

          When applying this theory to non-living objects, like natural stones and semi-precious stones, many believe you are “charging” it with energy and therefore it can be a powerful energizing and protective tool to it’s wearer… just as easily as pulling on a coat for cold weather.
